In 1927 a seven-year school opened in Shakhuanya, and in 1935 the school became known as "Secondary comprehensive school №14".
At that time glorious traditions were established. Teachers and students of the school took part in the collection of waste paper and scrap metal, carried out political information training and literary evenings, organized sport competitions and sport breaks, participated in military-sport game "Zarnitsa". Pupils of the school, as well as students across the country, were Octobrists, Pioneers, Komsomol members.
In 1937 the first graduates left the secondary school. It kept pace with the whole country.
In 1959 extended daycare groups were established at the school.
April 12, 1961. A memorable day for everyone. There was a celebratory assembly dedicated to the first Soviet person who went to space. Tears were in people's eyes. They were proud of their country, which had not been fully revived yet after the devastating Great Patriotic War.
 For many years, weekend clubs were very popular among teachers, pupils and their parents. At the weekend anybody who wanted to could go in for sports, take part in staging theatrical performances, do singing and dancing.
In 1981, after new modern schools started functioning in the town, it was decided to improve the school building by attaching a large annex. However, the traditions were preserved, and the school didn't lose the status of the best educational institution in the town.
In 1986 the obelisk in memory of the fallen in the Great Patriotic War was opened.
In 1991 the Information Technology room started functioning at the school. The first computers appeared.
In 1993 the school, which used to be under the jurisdiction of the Railway Administration, was transferred to the jurisdiction of the District Board .
In 2000 the first subject oriented class was opened.
The  year of 2007 was a jubilee for the school. Teachers and students celebrated the 70th anniversary of the native school.
In 2008 the first interactive whiteboard appeared in the Physics room.
In 2009 the young army squad, which functioned at the school, got the status of the Alpha military-patriotic club.
Since 2010 the mass equipage of the school with computers has been going on: the second Information Technology room has been opened, the primary school has been fully equipped with interactive systems.
In 2011 - 2012 academic year the school virtual museum was established.
